The Impossible Triangle

You know that old saying - cheap, fast, good: pick two.

Big tech loves this excuse. They use it to justify why their services cost an arm and a leg, or why your video takes 30 minutes to generate, or why the quality looks like it was rendered on a potato.

I call BS.

The Real Numbers

Here’s what I’m doing every single day: trying to keep a single 7 second video at just a few cents while generating 720p high fps video in under 9 minutes.

Why? Because if I can’t do that, then what’s the point? Just another expensive service that only rich people or corporations can afford. Another gatekeeper deciding who gets to create.

That’s not what this is about.

Building Different

Big cloud providers would love for me to use their services. They’ve got sales people, they’ve got “easy integration”, they’ve got all the corporate buzzwords.

They also have insane prices, data retention policies that make your skin crawl, and enough overhead to fund a small country.

So I build my own hardware. Pragmatic. Low cost. Nothing fancy. No corporate middlemen taking their cut and selling your data on the side.

Is it harder? Absolutely.

Do I lose sleep over optimization and efficiency? You bet.

But at least I can look you in the eye and tell you exactly what’s happening with your data (nothing, it gets deleted) and why something costs what it costs.

The Part Where I’m Supposed to Apologize

Sometimes the system is at capacity. Sometimes there’s a queue. Sometimes optimization means I need to tweak things and it takes a bit longer.

And here’s the weird thing - you guys get it.

My users aren’t screaming for instant gratification. They understand that what they’re getting is something they literally couldn’t have otherwise. Not at this price. Not with this privacy. Not without jumping through corporate hoops and censorship filters.

Because I’m bringing you something real. Not a promise. Not a waitlist. Not a “coming soon” that never comes.

An actual working service that does what it says, charges fairly, and treats you like an adult.

Why Not Just Scale Up?

“Just use AWS! Just add more servers! Just charge more!”

Yeah, and become exactly what I set out not to be.

The moment I do that, costs go up more than 30 times (yes I do the cost math everytime I add features). Your data becomes “valuable insights”. Privacy becomes “we take your privacy seriously” which means nothing. And suddenly I’m just another service optimizing for profit over people.

I have also come to suspect that big cloud is inspecting your data under the guise of “ethical AI”.

No thanks.

I’d rather stay small, stay honest, and keep working on making things better without selling out.

The Actual Goal - Don’t be greedy

Under 7 minutes. A few cents. Good quality. No corporate surveillance. No data hoarding. No BS.

That’s the target. Not because it’s easy. Because it’s what’s right.

Some days I hit it perfectly. Some days I’m tweaking and optimizing, then things crash fabulously. But every single day I’m working on it without compromising on the things that matter - your privacy, fair pricing, and straight talk.

Because at the end of the day, you deserve better than what big tech is selling you.

And I’m going to keep building it, one optimization at a time. If you are in my backers telegram group or in the announcement channel then you know how frequently updates happen, how quickly things can improve.

I am very lucky that most of my users are supportive when things fail or don’t work out. I don’t need to raise capital, do a startup or take on debt. I just listen to their feedback and requests, no judgement. Then I figure out how to make it work.

Until then think about all AI censorship like this

OMG AI generated bare ankles! Censor it ASAP! Shut em down.
